Terms of business

We want you to have the best experience with ‘owning your wellbeing’ in using the help and support to achieve the outcomes you want. We will work together in a variety of different ways to help you continue to progress towards your chosen goals. Our aim is for you to do so in as few consultations as possible and for you to leave feeling better after our first meeting and beyond it.

We use outcome measures as part of this process, which helps to gauge your progress and response to the methods we use and put into practice together. We use a short anonymised questionnaire, designed to help us assess your needs and how best to address them.

The link to ‘Your privacy’ explains how we handle and protect your personal data and confidentiality, which are important to us.

The vast majority of clients consider that wellbeing consultations are one of the most important investments in themselves for their future. It helps them commit to making their wellbeing and self-care a priority. We do not charge in advance for a set number of consultations or a course of treatment. We do ask for a £25 deposit for private bookings as it helps you to commit, invest and engage in the process (also preventing others losing out on earlier interventions). We operate on a pay as you go basis. You remain in charge and control of what sessions you need and are not stuck in an endless cycle of therapy.

PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS

The scale of charges for each individual consultation, lasting approximately 1 hour is:

MEET & GREET FREE

ONLINE & TELEPHONE £100

WALK & TALK £100

CONSULTING ROOMS £125

OUT OF HOURS £125

COUPLES COUNSELLING £150

Payment by online transfer is generally the most convenient and efficient method for clients and can most easily be arranged on the day of consultation. If payment is not made at the time of or prior to the consultation an administration fee of £15 will be charged within the first 7 days and 15% interest added every 7 days thereafter.

Some clients have healthcare insurance cover. We are unable to communicate directly with insurers, and we do not have an electronic claims system in place. It is the client’s responsibility to ascertain whether or not their insurance provider covers psychological talking therapies, to pay their fees at the time of consultation, and to then claim from their insurer, where possible. We will do our utmost to facilitate that claim.

A minimum of 24 hours notice of cancellation in writing by email is normally required, otherwise the session fee becomes payable.

Where an appointment is arranged and agreed, and a client does not attend that appointment, the consultation fee will be payable in full, together with the administration fee of £15.

BESPOKE AND CORPORATE

We offer affordable and flexible bespoke packages, programmes and/or daily attendances in-house or at your site-specific location. We scale rates reasonably to suit corporate, company or professional requirements that are fit for the modern working world. You can retain us as consultants for one day per week, per month or per quarter to provide pre-arranged or ‘time to clock in’ sessions for individuals (on call to support their wellbeing at work and safeguard your workforce). It is worth remembering that these are tax deductible expenses with everyday bonuses for your wellbeing, your work life and your business.

Please contact us for our set rates and/or scale of charges for bespoke arrangements tailored around your specific requirements and needs.

We know you will reap the positive benefits of owning your wellbeing and work life.

It is recognised that some clients may be particularly vulnerable. We reserve the right to make an audio recording of the consultations, if deemed appropriate, for the protection of both client and consultant.

It is recognised that the consultant and/or client may be away from their home base, or regular place of business for one or more consultations. For the purposes of this agreement and terms and conditions the consultation is deemed to have taken place in the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom. Any dispute between the parties shall be resolved through mediation. If the matter cannot be resolved through mediation the matter will be referred to the UK court local to the consultant.

If any client has feedback, concerns or even a complaint that they want to raise with us please bring it to our attention in the first instance by getting in touch via our contact form. If necessary any client is welcome to contact the professional body which regulates us at The HGI Board Secretary, Human Givens Inst., Chalvington, BN27 3TD.
